Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, or DEI, can be understood as a broader collection of six building blocks or pillars of a much larger area of work and life. Raven Solomon Enterprises has developed “The Six Building Blocks of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion." The first building block of DEI, at the very foundation of this work, is language. Language is the foundation of effective communication. It's no different regarding DEI. To be effective communicators of positive social change, one can begin by understanding the language and terminology of diversity, equity, and inclusion. With a foundational vocabulary, one can answer the question: “What Is DEI?”
